"Filled to Overflowing" -Email 06/10/2013

This week has gone by so fast! While at the same time sitting down to write about it feels like I have a whole month's worth of events.
On Monday we went golfing, turns out I'm professional. I know, you're not surprised.
Tuesday we worked hard! We saw the same young man that we saw last week, his name is Frank. He continues to believe the Book of Mormon is true. We saw him about 4 times this week. He was never sure if he wanted to come to church. Apparently, there was some family promise way back when that said they would never come to church. Sounds really superstitious. He looked at me when he said that, and said, "Now you think I'm weird because you have a really weird look on your face." Sorry! Haha at least he made me aware of the fact that I can't seem to keep a normal face when it comes to that stuff. We promised him he would feel peace and happiness. Welp, he showed up yesterday. We visited with him afterwards and guess what he felt? He explained it as a 'warming' feeling. He felt peace there. He will be back next week. And guess what else? He has committed to baptism on June 30. The Lord prepares people.
It's been a super wet week here- turns out no one showers in New Jersey because by stepping into the rain for 1.4 seconds you get slammed with enough water to cover your showers for 3 years. Friday was our walking day and I really enjoyed trudging up and down hills in boots and having everything down to my skin soaked. Anything to visit the one! We had a special visit with Hermana Cangre, a less active, that day. We both completely forgot what the plan for the lesson was when we walked in, and the only thing we seemed to know how to talk about was the Holy Ghost. She began to cry as we explained how the Holy Ghost can give comfort and peace. She committed to buy a little journal and write down her revelatory experiences.
My companion and I have grown so close- as we have trusted each other with hard things and with weird accents and completely embarrassing personal experiences, we have found that it's impossible not to love each other. And as we love each other, our companion unity in teaching has really increased because we trust each other with the investigator and the lessons. As that has increased, the spirit is more present. And we all know that it's not the missionary who does the converting, but the Spirit of God as it burns within the people's hearts to let them know that what we say and what they read is true.
The key is in helping them really pray, and know the communication they can receive back. They key is in strengthening their relationship with God, and committing them to something that brings them there.
Can't wait for another week :) Wearing this badge never gets old.

Love Hermana Millward

In the rain in Boonton

With Elder Christensen, my district leader who is dying this week! :(
