"The FOREST!" -Email 05/07/2013

It's Momma Millward here--I've been out of town the past 10 days helping my parents in SLC.  It's been a busy and great 10 days for Hermana Millward.  We didn't hear from her on her regular P-Day last week because she was transferred.....She's doing great!
Her new mailing address is:

504 Lindsley Drive Apt. 3H
Morristown, New Jersey 07960

I have been transferred to the Forest!
We run with bunnies, proselyte with beavers, and check our ankles for ticks every night! Isn't that delightful? Haha actually it totally is- morning runs are absolutely amazing with the hills and the gorgeous sun coming up. We are surrounded by insane amounts of popcorn popping trees and the nature freak in me is obsessed with it. We got lost on last Thursday night trying to find a former out in the middle of nowhere (Our area is one big donut around Morristown, we cover a ton of little suburbs) and we were driving in the woods, up and down hills. I almost killed Bambi! Bambi and all 6 of his brothers! Stinkin deer run out right when the cars come. It was super exciting. My companion and I were cracking up. Don't worry, I didn't hurt him at all- not even a chip on his hip (Which is better than Brooke can say right now.. :P ).
We spent a ton of time just finding formers and trying to get to know our huge area this week. I was wrong, it's only been 8 months since they've had sisters here. And so that's nice- everyone who has seen us has been talking about how excited they all are to have sister missionaries here again! We have such an enthusiastic tiny branch (almost 30 were in sacrament this Sunday). We have had multiple people call us and ask when they can come out with us. No one can stop talking about how much work there is to be done. Bring it on! We want to be so busy!
We feel so blessed because the members trust us already- we got 6 referrals in 3 days or so. That is huge! There was one miracle, which was that we entered a little hallway of apartments off the main street in Madison, knocked on a door hoping to find a former, but instead found a young man who listened to our message and then referred us to his downstairs neighbor, thinking it might be the guy we were looking for. We knocked there and it was a young mother who immediately let us in and sat down with us for 30 minutes to talk about God and our message. Such humility- the hispanic people seem to have such respect for God. How many of us would invite people in to sit down in the middle of our day and talk to us about God? It makes me think about respecting others beliefs more and taking more time for God. After that lesson, she referred us to the young men upstairs. We went up there are made a return appointment for next Sunday- we will be taking a member with us and we are thrilled! 3 investigators, all referred by each other, and all having their heart opened a little bit to the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
We are so excited about our area, we have been working our heads off! I am afraid that in my first Sunday School class with the branch I was falling asleep- I can't explain how tired I have been! And that's how we like it!
So excited to talk to my family Sunday- we get to go to a member's home and have a barbecue and then talk at 4 pm Idaho time. They're the best.
The church is true, the Atonement is real, and pray for Brooke!

Love Hermana Millward

Some hilarious moments of the week include:
Accidentally dropping my ring down an investigators toilet, and fishing it out while trying not to make too much noise as to alarm them with what is going on in the bathroom.
Calling the same people 2 times trying to set up appointments that we discussed thoroughly the first time as they tried to be polite and say they already had an appointment with the 'other' sister missionaries.
Almost running bambi over.
Contacting a man on main street as a bird flies into the window next to us, going at least 493 miles per hour. I did not handle that well. I was not calm, or graceful. The contact ended quickly after that...
Accidentally calling somebody in Utah asking when we could come over and visit them, because we were the new missionaries here in Morristown! That appointment fell through.
Accidentally setting up 3 dinner appointments in a row yesterday, all with hispanic people (duh) who tell the missionaries they love them by feeding them amounts of food that would only be healthy if we were the size of elephants. And we might soon be.
They go on... Life is hilarious. Love it!
